Brendan employed perks of being born to a physiotherapist as his mother helped him recover from surgery. Della assisted the young athlete to repair two fractured fingers on his left hand and an injured right foot.

However, Brendan is susceptible to not only his mother but every member of his family and treats them generously.

Wife, Dating Status, Girlfriend

Brendan dated Vanessa Grimaldi in 2017. Vanessa is famous as the winner of the 21st season of the reality show, The Bachelor.

She was engaged to Nick Viall on the show, but the couple called in quits within only five months of togetherness. Post her split with Nick, Vanessa and Brendan were spotted together looking pretty cozy. However, Vanessa herself denied having dated him.

Moving past the rumors, the player in his mid-twenties was allegedly dating a Quebec native named Frederique Beaubien, and two were considered a perfect match.

Anyhow, the young lad seems too vested in his career to split his time for marital responsibilities and a wife. So, it doesn't appear he would be getting married anytime soon.

Is Brendan Gay?

Though the hockey star has been linked to alluring beauties, he isn't free from alligations that say otherwise.

When Wayne Gretzky delivered his iconic ‘This Is Who I Am’ speech post his win at the first Stanley Cup with the Edmonton Oilers, it was considered a historic moment for fellow athletes to come out of the closet.

Brendan’s name was also listed among the ones who were benefitted by the expression. However, the athlete is yet to address his gay sexuality publicly.

 Contract With Montreal Canadiens

The Montreal Canadiens drafted Brendan in an extended six-year contract worth US$22.5 million in 2014.

The deal earned him a salary of $5.5 million in 2015-16, $4.5 million in 2016-17, $2.75 million in 2017-18, $3 million in 2018-19, and $4 million in 2019-20. Further, the athlete of height 5 feet 9 inches (1.75m) and 83 kgs will be receiving a paycheck of $2.75 million in 2020-21.

For the passionate player, it wasn't about the handsome sum of money; instead, the six years he could perfect his skills on the ice.

The general manager of the Montreal Canadiens revealed:

"He doesn't take a shift off, he never has. The effort is always there, and his character is off the charts. He's always in the paint, he works hard, he gets loose pucks, and he's not afraid of anything. He competes night in and night out."

Brendan, with his athletic physique and genuine spirit to win, is equally pleased to be the part of the team.
