American Chef Jeff Mauro is best known for winning the seventh season of Food Network Star in 20111.

He has also appeared as the co-host of the cooking reality show- The Kitchen, and the host of Sandwich King. Further, in 2017, he also gained an Emmy nomination for his work as a host in The Kitchen.

Apart from his TV appearances, Jeff is also the owner of chain restaurant Pork & Mindy's.

The couple has a son named Lorenzo Mauro, born in 2009. 

Short Bio/ Age

Jeff was born Jeffrey Michael Mauro in 1978 in Chicago, Illinois. 

The chef was raised in a large family with four kids alongside his brother Frank Mauro and sisters, Emily and Dana Mauro. 

As a young boy, Jeff was a bright child who consistently made his family members laugh.

Jeff Mauro's Career

Jeff initially wanted to pursue a career in performing arts.

But after his college graduation, he and his cousin came up with a business plan to earn some fast money. They opened up a Prime Time Deli & Catering in Westmont, Illinois, and from thereon, Jeff fell in love with cooking.

In the starting days of his career, Jeff crafted sandwiches, soups, and salads during the day and performed at local theatres at night. After a few years, Jeff moved to LA to follow his Hollywood dream, but instead, he enrolled at the Le Cordon Bleu culinary program to refine his cooking skills.

From the cooking program, Jeff graduated valedictorian and returned to Chicago. He took on his old job and also started giving cooking lessons to other people.

Jeff's life finally took a turn in 2011, after he won the title of Food Network Star.

After that, Jeff has appeared in many other cooking shows like The Best Thing I Ever Made (2012), The Kitchen, Rachael Ray (2014-2018), and Cooks vs. Cons (2017), to name a few.

  • Jeff attended Bradley University School of Communications.
  • He opened his first restaurant, Pork & Mindy- a sandwich shop on 8th January 2019 in Bucktown, Chicago.
  • Jeff's obsession with the sandwich started at the age of ten when his mom asked him to make his sandwich after his constant complaining. 
  • In 2016 the Sandwick King went through a dramatic weight loss and lost about 45 pounds in four months. He opened about his weightloss journey and thanked his trainers through a Facebook post on 16th February 2016.
