The revelation did not end there, cause the couple opened up another surprise which is so cute that fans could help but admire.
The couple revealed about expecting their first child in 2013, which was the same year they got married. Revealing the duo secretly got married in June 2013, Brandon explained to PEOPLE about expecting their first child by saying,
“We’re having a little girl in January. It’s been the most amazing couple of months of our lives.”
Kirsten welcomed her first child, a daughter named Harper Rose Barash on January 7, 2014.
Happiness Did Not Last Long!
Despite welcoming their daughter, the only one who they have in the name of children, the couple could not maintain their relationship and ended up in divorce.
Storms and Barash got divorced in 2016, and it all happened amicably.
Many speculated Storms' illness was the cause, but Barash explained the split in such words.
“We are splitting due to the cliché irreconcilable differences, but we’re splitting amicably. We have every intention of remaining a family through this and co-parenting our kid and retaining a friendship in the efforts of raising her in a healthy environment.”
“This was not a hasty decision; a lot of thought and therapy went into this. But we’ve decided that raising our daughter in two separate homes would be a healthier choice for all of us.”
Storms also explained,
“We went to therapy for a long time, trying to figure out how to communicate better with each other,” she said. “It’s not anything that we dislike about each other.”
But despite the split, the former couple are firm on remaining good friends with one another and are willing to do whatever it takes to give their daughter the right upbringing.
“We are getting along, and I would say enjoying each other’s company more now that we don’t have the pressure of what comes with a relationship added on to that. I think Brandon and I are really looking forward to getting our friendship with each other back.”
They stand firm in their words, which is evident in Kristen's Instagram image, where she can be spotted sharing their time together.
For parents, there is nothing greater than love for their children and that same love is keeping Kristen and Brandon together. The former couple has pledged to stay as a family for the sake of their daughter; a decision that can never be questioned.
As of now, Storms seems to be budding a new romance with Elias Paul Reidy. Storms has shared frequent pictures with Elias Paul Reidy all over her Instagram that glimpsed the moments from nail saloon to workplace.
A Baby Despite Health Issues!
Kristen had the solid reason for keeping her married life private in spite of media's queries about her personal life. Unfortunately, Kristen was a victim of endometriosis, a situation that can cause severe pain while in periods.
“We kept things quiet because of everything that can go wrong during the first trimester. Kirsten did have a rocky [time] and we were in and out of the hospital.”
He also added,
“We talked about wanting to have kids and Kirsten was told she could try hormone therapy. It was pretty bleak as far as the probability of her being able to get pregnant … but then we got back from a trip to Amsterdam and discovered we were expecting. We calculated that we conceived the baby in [GH star] Tony Geary‘s guest room!”
The couple clearly did not want to spread the word until the arrival of their baby girl was a sure thing. For that, nobody's judging them.
“A couple of weeks ago she wasn’t really showing, but now her curves have just taken over. It makes me love her even more. It feels like a fairytale — we are so lucky.”
The day finally came on January 7, 2014, when the baby entered the world. They named their daughter as Harper Rose.
Storms took over her Instagram to show the excitement!
Storms' Health Issues!
Storms, as we all know, has had a long history of endometriosis, which is why she was frequently taking sick leaves from the show "General Hospital." But it was a shocker when she revealed in 2016 that she was leaving the show again following her skin problems. Kristen was then replaced by Molly Burnett, who previously played Melanie in the Days Of Our Lives.
Moreover, she revealed that it was hard for her to work with heavy makeups, which is why she was taking another break from the show.
“I am taking a little break from work due to some skin issues I’ve been having,”
“My doctors say my breakouts are due to stress, but shouldn’t take too long to get under control. I can say that I’m on the better end of it now. However, it was becoming too difficult for GH to cover up. And we all know in this business, appearance is important.”
Storms returned back to the show after her health issues in 2016, however Storms got affected by depression in 2017 which made her take another absence leave from the show, "General Hospital."
Despite the health issues, Storms has not shown any significant signs of weight loss and seems to be managing her role of "Maxie" well. Recently, on February 5, 2018, she connected with her fans about Ryan Paevey's departure, who played the role of Nathan West in the show. Storms went live on her Facebook through her page to hear and response the fans' queries.
