SNL's longest-serving female cast member Vanessa Bayer has announced her departure from the American late-night live television sketch comedy show Saturday Night Live after seven seasons.
E! News confirmed the departure of Vanessa Bayer after a seven-season stint. The thirty-five-years-old actress Bayer also confirmed the news about her departure via her official Instagram account. Bayer shared a picture of a poem written by her fellow cast member Colin Jost with a caption-
"Thank you SNL for 7 years of laughs, love and incredible memories. It has been a dream come true”.
Bayer then added-
"And thanks for this goodbye sketch at the table, Colin."
Vanessa Bayer joined the SNL as a featured member in 2010. Two years later, she became a full-time SNL star and is widely famous for her recurring roles like Laura Parsons, a child actress, Brecky, a former porn star, Rachel Green from the sitcom Friends and Miss Meadows, an unrealistically perky poetry teacher. Likewise, she is also popular for her “so gay” steamy video with Kristen Stewart.
Her performance in the show has been something very amazing which was praised by Rolling Stone by calling her "Saturday Night Live's secret weapon" and HitFix by calling her "one of the strongest members of the ensemble." Bayer was also nominated for an American Comedy Award in the year 2014.
