The “Today ” show co-host Hoda Kotb via a telephonic conversation with the NBC early morning show announced the adoption of a baby girl, Haley Joy born on 14th February 2017.

When talking about her baby girl, Hoda expressed her little girl to be her beautiful Valentine's gift and said:
“She’s aValentine’s baby, She is the love of my life.”
While her co-host Matt Lauer said the little girl to be the luckiest girl born on this planet. He said:
"This little girl Haley is the luckiest girl on the planet. You will be one of the most fantastic moms I can ever imagine."
While another co-host Kathie Lee Gifford gave a positive reaction, she said:

Further, the new mother was called back on the Today show for few more details about her baby girl and few stories behind her name which made Hoda disclose about keeping the traditional practice of her family alive by keeping her girl's name with the initial “H” while the middle name got kept due to the little girl’s sweetness. She said:
"Haley is because of Halley's Comet, and it was one of those things that I just picture her sailing through the sky. She brings us joy," Kotb said. "She’s got a beautiful way about her."
Earlier before the adoption scenario, Hoda had dropped few hints by sharing motherhood quotes.
