Jason made an appearance on "The View" to promote his newest ABC sitcom, Kevin (Probably) Saves the World. While he joined the hosts of today's taping of "The View," Jason proclaimed Tuesday to be "National Hug A Kevin Day" as his character Kevin is charged with bringing light and joy back into people’s lives by hugging them.
He explained-
"One of the things on the show is that I have to hug people. It's complicated. Watch the show and you'll know what I'm talking about."
Jason wanted to go big while he discussed his character on "The View" as he decided to be an individual giving the most hugs in one minute to break the Guinness World Record.

According to the official rules, the hugs are only considered when a person’s arm goes around and touches the torsos. Jason moved the bar from 79 hugs all the way up to 86 hugs to break the record.
He set up a string of hundred people along with the hosts of The View, and he made sure to hug each person as he continued hugging every person who lined up to help him, even after the buzzer ran out.
The Guinness World Record holder Jason then took Twitter to reveal that his childhood dream has finally come true.Â

Jason even talked about his engagement to his girlfriend of four years Melanie Lynskey on the show, The View.Â
Jason got engaged to his longtime girlfriend Melanie earlier this year in February. Well, he wasn’t shy at all to reveal that he proposed Melanie on the couch of their living room.
The New Zealand-born actress, Lynskey is an ex-wife of Jimmi Simpson. Melanie Lynskey and Jimmi Simpson got married in the year 2007 and got separated in 2012 citing "irreconcilable differences." Their divorce was finalized in 2014.
