‘First be best, then be first.’, Following this mantra throughout the life, Grant Tinker took his last breath on November 28, 2016, at his home, Los Angeles. The creative producer who has been the unseen hand to many was 90-years-old.

On Monday, November 28, 2016, Tinker's son Mark Tinker revealed the death, to the associated press.  It has been a great loss to the TV industry. The hero behind the scene has now left the world with his memories of his great work and the contribution that he has given to the industry.

Tinker and his ex-wife started his career in the television industry on 1969 by forming a television production company, MTM Enterprises. MTM presented its first television series casting his wife titled by her name, ‘The Mary Tyler Moore Show’ which won multiple Emmys. He also produced lots of other hit shows like Rhoda, The Bob Newhart Show, Hills Street Blues, St. Elsewhere.

With all those remarkable works in MTM Enterprises, after his divorce on 1981, he worked as the CEO of NBC. While operating in NBC, he pulled up the ratings. He has got indelible fingerprints in the popular shows like 'The Cosby Show,'' Family Ties,' 'The Golden Girls,' ' Cheers,''Night Court' and Hill Street Blues.

During his tenure, NBC received multiple awards and pretty good ratings. In addition to that, his work resulted in the increase of the annual profits. Graphically, it was something like from base to top; from $48 million to $500 million.

With all his work as the great producer and creative executive must have contributed to making an impressive net worth.

All the fans, family and co-workers of the prolific producer, Tinker conveyed their heartfelt condolence through a different medium. On that particular note, Greenblatt wrote,

“It was with great sadness that I learned of the passing of Grant Tinker last night. He was not only an iconic television producer with the highest standards but also a towering figure in the history of the NBC network,”

Ken Levine wrote an appreciation of tinker in his blog on Wednesday. On which, he has mentioned the great job that Tinker has done in his whole life. He wrote,

” The ratings were dismal, but he didn’t care,”

Further, he wrote,

“He loved the show, believed in the show, and not only kept it on the air but left us all alone to do it our way. Ironic that his name was Tinker when tinkering was the last thing he ever did.”

Appreciating the work that he has done in the television industry, his admirers gave their humble condolence.

This hero behind the scene has made a commendable impression in the television industry. In 2004, Grant also received ‘Peabody Award.' After receiving the award, while giving his he credited his success to all the person with whom he has worked.He said,

“I have enjoyed a great deal of success with the help of others,”

The inspiration for lots of writers, unseen hand behind the success of many icons is dead. Physically he has left the world but spiritually, he will always be with us.No doubts, we will always remember the legendary producer.
