For a professional sportsperson, being prone to injuries is his or her worst nightmare. It sets a significant drawback in their performance affecting their career, records, and stats as a whole.

Jeremy Maclin, who is the wide receiver of NFL team Baltimore Ravens, has faced some injury concerns throughout his career as well. But the focal point of today's segment is whether or not his injury concerns have hampered his stats and his contract?

Well, you need to take a look at his professional graph to grab a more precise picture!

Jeremy Maclin's Professional Career: His Injury, Career Stats, Contract, And More:

Jeremy Maclin has been an impressive lad ever since his inception during his college days. Playing for the University of Missouri, Maclin first gained recognition and was noticed by several big clubs in the NFL.

Despite him having high chances of being drafted by the Oakland Raiders during the 2009 NFL draft, he was picked up as the 11th overall draft pick by Philadelphia Eagles.

That helped Maclin sign a five-year deal worth $15.5 million with the Eagles on August 3 of that year with a 9.5 million USD guaranteed amount. Eventually, Jeremy proved his value and helped the Eagles secure some crucial wins.

Jeremy then started paying the Eagles' management good dividend and was proving to be of good value to the team. But, unfortunately, on July 27, 2013, he suffered a torn ACL during a training camp and was forced to sit out the entire 2013 season. During the end of the same month, Maclin was officially placed on the reserve list of injured players.

But as they say, a winner is someone who is able to stand up and fight even though their back is against the wall; Jereme did the same, as he stood up against the odds and came back strong.

His comeback indeed helped him have a 1-year contract extension with the Eagles, which kept him in Philly for the entire 2014 season.

Following an impressive 2014, a year which would eventually be the last year he would don an Eagles jersey; the Kansas City Chiefs signed Jeremy. The Chiefs signed him for 5 years when they handed him a contract worth $55 million.

He did not start up well for the Chiefs, but he slowly got his rhythm back and started showing glimpses of his original skills on the field.

But then again, his injury-prone side kicked in, and then he tore his groin during the 2016 season which prompted him to miss four crucial games.

The deplorable incident again degraded his performance, as he started only 12 games for career lows of just 44 receptions, 536 yards, and two touchdowns, something which did not do justice to his abilities.

The scenario further forced the Chiefs to release Jeremy in June 2017, only to open the doors for Baltimore Ravens to bag him. The Ravens handed him a 2-year contract worth $11 million.

His contract included a $6,000,000 guaranteed amount, and an average yearly salary of $5,500,000. Also in 2017, Maclin will earn a base salary of $1,000,000 along with a signing bonus of $5,000,000, while carrying a cap hit the amount of $3,500,000, and a dead cap value of $7,000,000.

And by the looks of it, Jeremy has been doing the Ravens' justice, as he has been trying to be a pivotal link in the team. He indeed has been working on improving his career stats!
