Zaevion Dobson, A Deceased Hero: Honored With Arthur Ashe Courage Award
As a tribute to his departed soul and the unearthly courage he showed in his last moment, late Zaevion Dobson was honored with Arthur Ashe Courage Award in 13th July 2016 by ESPN.
Zaevion Dobson, a 15 years-old high school football player, died a heroic death in the act of saving his three friends in a grave gunfire in Knoxville, Tennessee on December 17, 2015. ESPN announced on Tuesday, June 21, 2015, that Zaevion Dobson was to be honored with the Arthur Ashe Courage award posthumously.

Zaevion’s mother and his two brothers received the award on behalf of the deceased hero on July, 13. 2016. Zenobia Dobson, Zaevion’s mother, requested to uproot the gun violence from the world in her speech after she received the award.
She said,“I’m here to fight back, we as a country need to take a stand to consider the effects of gun violence on families throughout America. Oh yes.”
Meanwhile, ESPN played a video interviewing his family, friends, football coach and many others, in which Michael B. Jordan acted as the voice of Zaevion Dobson, who narrated how the 15 years-old teen would have looked back the last day of his life.

He gave his life to save theirs, an act of heroism a lot bigger than anything we should ever expect from a 15-year-old.
Two out of the three saved girls has opened up about the incident and a girl even has had a tattoo of Zaevion engraved on her right back shoulder to keep him alive in her memory.

Zaevion was a kind of teen who always readily helped others and at last, gave his life for the same reason. His bravery and courage is a source of inspiration for everyone of every age. Zaevion Dobson will always be remembered as a son, a brother, a friend, a student and to cap it all, as a hero.
