2019 MTV Video Music Awards: Complete List Of Winners With Details
2019 MTV Video Music Awards was a massive success.
Held at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on 26th August 2019, the VMAs housed music industry's biggest names. Several artists - including Taylor Swift and Lil Nas X - took to the stage and rocked the crowd.
The Korean boy band BTS were the notable absentee at the 2019 MTV Video Awards. Despite bagging the "Best K-Pop" honor, the group - on hiatus at the time - opted to skip the event.
Exclusively aired on the MTV network, the 2019 VMAs saw comedian Sebastian Maniscalco host the ceremony. Earlier this year, Billboard had named Sebastian as its comedian of the year.

1. Video Of The Year
Winner: Taylor Swift - You Need To Calm Down
Music sensation Taylor Swift's You Need To Calm Down created an upset by beating out Lil Nas X's Old Town Road. Directed by Drew Krisch and Taylor, the music video featured cameos from celebrities of LGBTQ community.

2. Artist Of The Year
Winner: Ariana Grande
3. Song Of The Year
Winner: Lil Nas X - Old Town Road ft. Billy Ray Cyrus
Initially released in December 2018, Old Town Road propelled Lil Nas X into international superstardom. It also earned him a VMA.
4. Best New Artist
Winner: Billie Eilish
Beating out tough contenders, Billie Eilish bagged the Best New Artist ar the 2019 VMAs. She competed next to Lil Nas X, Rosalia, Lizzo, and H.E.R. for the coveted prize.
5. Best Latin
Winner: Rosalia - Con Altura ft. J Balvin ft. El Guincho
Up against Latin trap heavyweights Daddy Yankee, Bad Bunny, and Maluma, Rosalia shocked the world with the win. Set on a boarding airplane, the music video for Con Altura is only 250 million views away from the billion clocks milestone (as of Aug 2019).

6. Best Pop
Winner: Jonas Brothers - Sucker
Reuniting in 2019, the Jonas Brothers released the music video for the single, Sucker. Directed by Anthony Mandler, it featured appearances from the trio's significant others.
7. Best Dance
Winner: The Chainsmokers - Call You Mine ft. Bebe Rexha
The Chainsmokers' music video for Call You Mine got judged as the Best Dance at the 2019 VMAs.
8. Best Collaboration
Winner: Shawn Mendes & Camila Cabello - Senorita
Filmed by Dave Meyers, the music video for Senorita featured Shawn and his rumored real-life love interest Camila embark on a cross-city tour. The on-screen chemistry between the two pop singers was enough to land the Best Collaboration laurel.
9. Best R&B
Winner: Normani - Waves ft. 6lack
Together with 6lack, Normani created a summer R&B anthem with Waves. The music video accompanying the record celebrated the African-American female experience.
10. Best Rock
Winner:- Panic! At The Disco - High Hopes
Dubbed the favorite in the category, the music video for Panic! At The Disco's High Hopes was a motivation personified. In the video's description box on YouTube, the band asked the public to continue their dream.
12. Best Hip-Hop
Winner: Cardi B - Money
Provocative in its approach, the music for Money featured Cardi harkening back to her pre-fame life of a stripper. For her efforts, the Bodak Yellow hitmaker won the Best Hip-Hop award. In doing so, she beat out 21 Savage's a lot and Travis Scott's Sicko Mode.

The honor for Push artist of the year went to Billie Eilish. Meanwhile, Taylor Swift recieved the Video For Good award for the star-studded You Need To Calm Down.
Other winners at the 2019 MTV Music Video Awards include Climatic (Best Direction for Old Town Road), Loris Paillier & Lucas Salton (Best Visual Effects for ME!), and Billie Eilish (Best Editing for Bad Guy).
While Charm LaDonna took home the Best Choreography award (Con Altura), John Richoux bagged the Best Art Direction honor (7 Rings). Likewise, Scott Cunningham got awarded with the Best Cinematography prize (Senorita).
