Forrest Wheeler was born on 21 March 2004 in California, USA and was later raised in Los Angeles by his parents. Talking about his ethnicity, he posses mixed ethnicity and has Caucasian and Chinese roots.

At an early age of seven, Forrest began his acting career by portraying the role of a Cambodian Boy, in the movie The Incredible Burt Wonderstone in 2013. He also appeared on the hit television series Community, New Girl, and Chasing Life in 2014. Also, Forrest appeared in the web series Mortal Kombat: Legacy II, portraying Young Kuai-Liang, and in the feature film Such Good People.

My dream role is to be in an action-comedy movies because I do martial arts. I’m a black belt in karate, and I do XMA—Xtreme Martial Arts. It’s a fusion between all kinds of martial arts plus gymnastics and dance. I used to do martial arts tournaments. I did one in Orlando [,Fla.,] last year and I got seven first-place trophies and one second.
Forrest, who is 13 years of age, is best known for his role as Emery in TV series Fresh Off the Boat, who was the cool, romantic, and lovable middle child of the Huang family. Moreover, his character goes on a quest to learn how to become an action hero in the series. He auditioned five times before portraying Emery's character. The comedy series was initially broadcasted in February 2015.
For his outstanding performance on the series Fresh Off The Boat, Forrest was nominated for four times and won Young Artist Award and Young Entertainer Awards in 2016. He appeared in a short movie titled Power Play released back in 2016.
