Julie Johnston met Zach Ertz, a soccer player for Philadelphia Eagles, in 2012 when they were in college. Julie went to Santa Clara University, and Zach attended Stanford University, and they met at Stanford Baseball game.
Hanging out in the stands of Cardinal Baseball Game initiated a friendship, and with workouts, after games and road trips it blossomed into dating.
On the occasion of Valentines Day on 2016, Julie wished Zach with an adorable picture via Instagram.
On February 26, 2016, Zach took Julie to Stanford University (the place where they first met) and Zach went down on his knees and proposed her with a ring. And by his gesture, Julie seemed to be pleasantly surprised. Zach shared this moment via Instagram and his caption read, "She said yes!! My best friend made this the best day of my life! #MrsErtz"
As visible in pictures, Julie is kissing Zach and Zach is pointing toward the ring on her finger and she expressed her happiness calling it the best day of her life and even said that she would get to spend rest of their life together.
Julie and Zach are very much in love and even express their desire to spend their life together time and again via their posts and Zach mentions the same while wishing his fiance' Julie on her first birthday after engagement on August 6, 2016
However, the happily engaged couple; Julie and Zach have not disclosed their wedding dates yet, and the fans are eagerly waiting for the date announcement when they will officially become a husband and a wife.
Joins Field After Injury!
According to the reports on August 16, 2016, Julie Johnston, played at her usual spot in the back line for the USA in the quarterfinal match versus Sweden after recovering from the groin injury. Her groin injury aggravated that she had suffered previously in December 2015 followed by May 2016 which was not too serious then.
The United States Women's National Team did not give a press release on August 2016, but back in May 2016 Coach Lory Dames said that,
“Julie has the same injury that she had in December, just not as severe,”
Further Coach Lory Dames added and said,
Julie could have gone today, probably for a half. But we were more of the mindset that we’d just sit her and try to wait until next week and get her 100% rather than keep going back and forth with it. It’s always difficult with Julie too because we have a bigger responsibility with Julie than just to the Red Stars, obviously. This week involved talking to the U.S Soccer team doctor [and] talking to their trainer. I spoke to Jill yesterday and it was basically Julie’s call today- how it felt, if it loosen up. It didn’t loosen up for her so we weren’t going to risk it.”
Julie has been a U.S World Cup team player with her talent and hard work and has successfully earned $300,000 in 2015 as soccer salary with bonuses.
