In the Netflix's monster hit 'Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt,' Tituss Burgess portrayed the role of Titus Andromedon, a struggling black gay actor in NYC. 

When he first auditioned for the role, he saw a lot of parallels between himself and the Titus character, while he also thought that he inspired the role. He explained it in his own words,

"I thought, 'Wow, did they really write something for me, or is it just coincidence?'" 

He also added,

"Several of my friends called me wanting to see if I could coach on them"

Burgess also added that the project was his career changing project.

"I've never been famous before. I got stopped all the time for theater, but this is a whole different thing."

Moreover, in a recent interview, on May 2017, he discussed the role where he said,

"We share some similarities, but we are quite not alike. However, I know this man very well, and I know his struggle very well, and I know his eccentricities really well, and so getting inside of it is a piece of cake,"

"Since the show has been out, though, when I meet people, sometimes they’re really disappointed—no, maybe perplexed—that I’m not s—ting glitter."

Now, as you might know, he has portrayed the role to full precision, and that is what made people often wonder if the guy is a gay in real life as well.

Not only that, but he has also been vocal about the gay rights and even made an appearance in gay parades, which added more fuel to the fire regarding the speculation.

Maybe, the hashtag "My wife" is for the third season of Unbreakable, which is yet to be released. It seems the two have great connections as friends as evident in the pictures. Moreover, Ellie is already married to her husband Michael Koman and shares a child with him as well.
