First Sight Wasn't Enough? Danielle DeGroot And Wife Are Getting Divorce Just A Year After Getting Married!
Married at First Sight couple, Danielle DeGroot and her husband Cody Knapek are calling off their marriage and heading for divorce as per reports on August 22, 2017.
In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, the couple announced their decision to end their marriage in a joint statement that said-
“After a year of marriage, and much thought and consideration, we are deeply saddened to announce that we’ve decided to go our separate ways. We remain the closest of friends, and have enjoyed sharing our lives with our Married at First Sight family.”
The statement continued-
“We want to thank the experts for their guidance and love throughout all of this. This process has only strengthened our belief that true love does exist!”
Danielle (age 31) also opened up about her split via Instagram on Tuesday, where she revealed that it was not an easy year, but she couldn’t fall for her husband, who is one of the amazing people that she has met. She explained-
“It hasn’t been an easy year, but it has been one of a lot of personal growth and of meeting some amazing people, including the one I got to marry. We value and respect marriage, but life is short and we also value happiness.”
She continued-
“While this was a difficult decision and divorce is not something either of us hoped for, we decided we will be happiest separating. Still got nothin’ but love for you @codyknapek,”
Danielle even thanked for all the people who supported them on their journey through the Instagram post.
Cody also took his Twitter to thank their supporters and Married At First Sight Fans, who showed love and rooted the pair all the way along.

Their relationship seemed to be going well, as Danielle shared a heartwarming message for her husband earlier this month on the occasion of their one year wedding anniversary.
The couple, who met for the first time on their wedding day, got married last year on August 6, 2016. They even documented first few months on the Lifetime reality series as newlyweds.
The couple remained married on the season finale, although they openly struggled with different heights of intimacy issues.
