Jill Zarin and her husband Bobby Zarin are all geared up and set to battle cancer they once thought was out of their life forever. On Monday night, in an exclusive talk with eonline.com, Jill Zarin revealed that Bobby has been diagnosed with a cancer spread that they thought was long gone after previously getting rid of his thyroid in 2009 because of thyroid cancer which came back to his lungs in 2015.
Last night on Monday, Jill revealed that Bobby has been diagnosed with a spread of a disease and by that, she meant cancer that returned out of nowhere as she was holding back her tears, whispering ‘oh my god’. Bobby was previously diagnosed with a thyroid cancer for which he had his thyroid removed and underwent a radioactive iodine treatment. Later he was diagnosed with a lung cancer that had spread for his previous thyroid cancer.
Jill Zarin revealed Bobby's cancer reoccurrence.
Bobby and Jill shared their cancer battle story with People,
“The radioactive iodine usually kills off whatever undetectable cancer cells are left in your body after surgery. We thought it was cured – and it usually is in about 93 percent of cases. But I wasn’t able to absorb the radioactive iodine. So it came back.”
After various treatments, Bobby’s tumor was removed but unfortunately, this time cancer has reached to his brain and he is getting the related treatment but says that he “feels great” to eonline.
Jill on the other hand who seems to be devastated than Bobby says,
"We have a great team. He had thyroid cancer that had spread to the lungs but it's all going to be good."
She further continued with some positive hopes and said that she would share their story again like they did with their previous one and believes that it helped many people. She said,
"You have to live to live because we want to be here to raise money for cancer research. We want to live our lives to the fullest. We don't want to miss anything while Bobby's healthy and strong and we're just going to fight it."
Bobby is currently receiving treatment from Dr. Ron De Pinho, a friend of Jill at the MD Anderson. The doctor team includes Dr. Steve Sherman, Dr. Jeffrey Weinberg and Dr. Mary McAleer who will be guiding the gamma radiation team in Huston next week.
