Hollywood actor best known for his portrayal on All My Children, Colin Egglesfield, has been the talk of the town because of speculations stating him as a gay man for a very long time. However, the reason why he is often rumored as gay is probably because of the secrecy he maintains regarding his dating life. 

But this does not necessarily mean that he is a gay man. Although he is single at the moment, he was rumored to be dating Malin Akerman in the past.

Though Colin does not seem to have a wife or even a partner right now, he did have a dating affair in his past. He was once linked with Malin Akerman, as they were spotted in public a couple of times.

The couple did not officially give a statement on their budding romance but clearly hinted that they were dating and having a great time when they were spotted together having dinner in Beverly Hills.

Later in early 2014, a source claimed that the couple was taking things slowly, and Malin felt that Colin was too hot for her. The source claimed her quote,

"They're taking it slow. She thinks he's almost too hot for her!"

However, while talking to E! News during the launch of Zooey Deschanel's new capsule collection for Tommy Hilfiger, Akerman mentioned that the two are just friends. 

“He's a friend of mine… Yeah, I have friends who are guys! He's so sweet [and] lovely.”

Also, it seems that Malin is not ready for a serious relationship as she states that any man to ever be in her life will have a tough competition because her son musters her love. She said,

“It’s hard because your heart is so full for your child, the next guy that comes along is going to have a lot of competition!”

Colin Will Be A Fun Father In The Future 

Although Colin is very secretive about his dating life, he is very vocal about his love and appreciation for his nieces and nephews. Colin often posts pictures with his nieces and nephews on social media and often calls himself “funcle” which means fun uncle. 

What’s more exciting is that he continuously makes fun TikToks with his nieces and nephews and his Instagram is full of moments of him being a funcle.

While posting about his nieces and nephews, Colin doesn’t hold back on showing his love for his mother, Kathleen. He continuously shares moments with his mother on Instagram and expresses his gratitude towards her. 

On the occasion of Mother’s Day 2021, Colin shared a picture with his mother holding a beautiful bouquet on Instagram and didn’t hold back on appreciating his mother on his caption. He wrote-

Likewise, he also appreciates his father, William, just the same. On father’s day 2020, Colin shared a picture with his day rowing a boat and states how much he misses him and cannot wait to become a dad himself and pass all the amazing lessons his father taught him to his future children.
