The life of an on-screen gay actor is a difficult one, as people often tend to give them a gay tag, off the cameras as well.
When you are success driven, you deliver justice to the demand of the script, enacting the character to full precision. Either they require resembling a gay character or not, the actors are committed to the role they sign up for, which usually leads to, people assuming them to be gay.
The same can be said about "Rev" star Tom Hollander, who has portrayed several gay roles on screen, but is he a gay in real life too? During an interview, he expressed his desire to have a partner in real life, but was he talking about a female partner or a male partner? Let's dig in deeper for the truth.
Tom Hollander Wants A Partner: Gay Partner or A Girlfriend?
Tom Hollander has often been termed a gay, as he has been a successful gay man in his life, on the cameras.
Despite being a popular gay man on-screen, he opened up revealing his sexuality and clearing the air about his rumor of being a gay. In an interview in early 2016, he said,
Are you asking me whether I am gay or not? Because no, I’m not, but I play a lot of gay parts.”
Plus, talking about how his gay roles attracted more men towards him, he expressed,
“For years I was accommodating when it came to my sexuality. I didn’t feel particularly gay but I was half-pretty and boyish. A lot of gay people seemed to have influential positions in the theatre so I went along with it, up to a point. Soon this affected the parts I got. I graduated from restoration fops to actual gay people.
So it is clear that his flirting with girls has not reaped him delightful rewards and he is still single.
Despite having dated some really attractive women in the past, like the journalist-campaigner-heiress Jemima Goldsmith and socialite-fashionista-artist-heiress Daphne Guinness, he revealed that he was single and is looking for a right partner.
“I am single. If I were on Facebook my status wouldn’t have changed.”
Moreover, when asked if all of this was because of his hectic schedule, he denied and said,
“No, just haven’t met the right person.”
There you go, he is yet to get married in real life, and his relationships with Janina and Daphne as well as his revelation about him not being gay indicates that he is looking for a right woman who he can later get married to and call her, his wife.
You can still dream ladies!
Tom Hollander Inadequately Paid In Pirates of the Carribean:
Those who are big fans of the POTC series might know that Tom Hollander portrayed the role of Lord Cutler Beckett in the very movie saga.
In the cash-rich saga, he revealed, he was paid 'badly.' Avenging the unrewarding experience he had, Tom spoke about getting away from the sets whenever he was allowed time off,
“It was a way of getting my own back. When they changed the schedule at the last minute, I would say, 'That’s fine, but I’m in Calcutta’, and they would say 'No problem’, and I would be airlifted out of the Third World in Lufthansa first class.”

He also talked about what camaraderie he noticed and felt among the character actors,
“We’d go back, and on one occasion we got there – Bill Nighy had come from wherever he’d come from, and Geoffrey Rush had come from Sydney, and we’d meet in the smoking room of Miami Airport, which is always full of actors, because, obviously, everyone else has given up smoking, but actors are still so anxious they have to smoke.”
He played a pivotal role in the success of the movie saga, and we hope to see him treat our eyes with several other projects shortly.
