The Bloomberg Television anchor married Benjamin L. Walter, a neurologist and associate professor of neurology, on September 14, 2002. The husband and wife were blessed with twin boys, Dylan and Zachary, on July 21, 2004. However, their married life ended on a sad note.
On September 20, 2006, Walter filed for a divorce. On April 23, 2008, the trial court in Ohio issued its judgment on the divorce that included a shared parenting plan.

She later returned to Asia and served as an anchor for CNBC Asia, where she covered daily market actions in the Greater China region. The former anchor for 'In the Loop with Betty Liu' is currently working for Bloomberg Television and is also a founder/CEO of Radiate Inc.
