Danny was born on 5 January 1964 as Daniel Nicholas Koker II. Known as the writer and producer of Counting Cars, he grew up as part of an automotive family.

Since a majority of Danny’s relatives worked for Ford Motor Company, he developed his interest in automobiles and taught himself everything about mechanic and work on cars.

After starting to restore cars and motorcycles, Danny relocated to Las Vegas, where he became part owner of a local television station. Danny hosted a weekly movie series named "Saturday Fright at the Movies."
