Bio & Parents

Karolina Pliskova was born in Louny, the Czech Republic on 21 March 1992. She was raised by her parents: Radek Plisek and Martina Plíšková alongside her twin sister Kristyna Plíšková; who was born 2 minutes earlier than Karolina.

The athlete boasts a Caucasian ethnicity from her parents and stands at an attractive height of 6 feet 1 inch (1.85m). She possesses a long blonde hair, green eyes along with two distinctive tattoos on her left arm and left leg. 

Karolina started playing tennis at the age of four. She made a significant impact on the sport when she won the girls' singles event at 2010 Australian Open defeating Laura Robson in the final.

Slowly but surely, she stepped into professional tennis. Her first senior Grand Slam tournament outing came at the 2012 French Open. Similarly, she partnered with her twin sister Kristyna, who is also a professional tennis player, and became the first twin sisters to ever win a doubles title in WTA history in 2013.

However, her major single WTA title came only in 2013, when she lifted the Malaysian Open. Also, she helped her country to win two matches on the Fed Cup World Group final in 2015.

Following an impressive run in 2015, the Czech superstar booked her spot in the U.S Open Grand Slam final against fellow German Angelique Kerber. Unfortunately, she came out on the losing end with a three sets (6-3, 4-6, 6-4) deficit.
