This journalist completed her schooling from Scarsdale High School in Scarsdale, New York. She was a bright student in her school and was one of few students to create an experimental democratic community, the Scarsdale Alternative School.
After completing her school, she joined Brown University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in the class of 1977 in American history.
