So let's take a peek at the health status of Michael Aspel as in 2018!
Michael Aspel's Health After Cancer Battle:
English television presenter Michael Aspel, despite being a cancer patient once, is going intact regarding both his health and mentality. Back in June 2002, when Michael suffered from urinary problems, he went to see a urologist.
Just after his then-wife, Lizzie suffered from a miscarriage, Michael came to know that he had cancer, a Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma (NHL), which is seen affecting the men aged 40 to 59.
Michael underwent a biopsy of his kidney and got blood tests, X-rays, a CT scan and a lumbar puncture while holding up the surgery for cancer for some time with only chemotherapies.
Later, in 2003, Michael had to undergo higher dose of chemotherapy, subsequently having his prostate enlargement operation.
Recalling the moments of his operation during an interview with the Mail Online in January 2007, Michael revealed that he felt fit despite all the diagnosis, and his girlfriend Irene too took the news well due to his demeanor.
"Irene took the news very well because she could see by my demeanour that I didn't feel ill. But I was surprised by the diagnosis as I felt so fit."
Michael even disclosed that he that he did not desire to go full-treatment as per his specialist's advice, as he was worried the treatment would make him feel ill. Michael quoted the reasons behind his desire to not have the full diagnosis as:
"I was worried that the treatment would be the thing that would make me feel ill. I have a horrible fascination with this disease I live with, but which has not, so far, actually made me feel sick. It's a bit like having the OBE. It's a great honour to have those letters after my name, but what do I actually do with them? That's how I feel about this lymphoma - I have it, but there's nothing I can do about it."
