Starting her day at 2:00 am to co-anchor the morning news, Rhonda Walker defines professionalism!
With her incredible energy, enthusiasm, and impeccable style, Rhonda has left no room to symbolize longevity in a career as she has held the position of the weekday morning newscast at WDIV-Local 4 News since 2003.
The recipient of the 2018's Angelo B. Henderson Community Service Award, Rhonda remains to be properly compensated for her enormous longevity and high-quality work in the industry. She was also inducted into the 2019 Catch Hall of Fame.
However, her attention was fractioned by her family life, too; she found love again after her quiet divorce with her former husband.
A secretive natured Rhonda still remained a family woman with all her attention focused towards her family outside of work!
Bio Reveals Family Details, Age and Salary
Rhonda, at 50 years of age, celebrates her birthday on 21st November each year. Born in Detroit to parents Dr. Ron Gillum Sr. and Harriette Gillum, who were married on 21 December 1963, the Lansing raised journalist holds a degree in communications from Michigan State University.
Despite being ever so busy in her professional endeavors, Rhonda always managed to separate some time for her family.
Her love towards parents reflected on her social media posts where she is found singing praises of the couple who she identifies as 'relationship goals' after a marriage that has lasted for over five decades.
With a great love for her big brother Ron and little sister Robin, it was safe to assume that Rhonda is a family girl sharing a great affection for her parents and siblings.

In her long and illustrious career, Rhonda has put in a significant amount of time and effort to her craft, for which she was properly rewarded. While the average News Anchor salary in Detroit amounts to around $67,000 annually, Rhonda bags in a whopping $300,000 for her services at WDIV.
Rhonda, with her vast earnings and an unprecedented love and desire for her community, also founded the Rhonda Walker Foundation with a motive to empower inner-city teen girls.
A philanthropist in her own way, she thus made more than 100 appearances throughout the year in support of charitable efforts establishing herself as a loyal resident of the Detroit Community. She also had an award in her cabinet to show for her philanthropic works after receiving the 2018 Angelo B. Henderson Community Service Award.
Divorce With First Husband, Newfound Love
Extremely private about her personal life, Rhonda managed to keep all her relationship status low key.
The journalist was actually secretive to such an extent, whereby not even a single media source had any information about her divorce with former husband and American football player Derrick Walker. Later, Rhonda herself revealed the information regarding the divorce at women's luncheon in October 2012.
Despite a failed first marriage with Derrick, Rhonda seemingly still believed in love. It was evident from the journalist’s social media accounts that she found love again, and she wasn't afraid to flaunt him whatsoever.
The journalist, who was pointed out to be in a relationship with businessman Robert Shumake back in 2010, was romantically involved with Jason Drumheller.
After being spotted together on several occasions, Rhonda ended speculations regarding her relationship status after she announced her love for her new man on the occasion of 2018 Valentines Day with an Instagram post that read,
"With Myâ¤ï¸ Always an amazing dining experience at @CafeCortina excellent food, wine, service, and atmosphere #ValentinesDay dinner."
The duo took their relationship to the next level as they announced their engagement. Jason got the best birthday gift possible after he proposed to Rhonda on his birthday on 26 September 2018.

The engaged duo was fearful of displaying their love in the social media and is found posting a wide range of pictures together, ranging from attending a colleague's wedding reception to going on a basketball game.
Hence, while the anchor remained to achieve excellence in her professional career, it seemed she had finally found her eminence in her personal life as well.
From 22nd May 2019, the TV host temporarily left her station on medical leave due to a surgery that she had to undergo. While she was recovering, she made the best of the time by planning her wedding. She shared about it quoting,
“The medical leave is giving me boundless time online and opportunities to read wedding magazines to research and plan our perfect day,”
So, finally, her plans became a reality on 31st August 2019 as she walked the aisle with her fiance, Jason Drumheller. Their wedding reception was held on the same day in the beautiful California Wine Country on the grounds of the magnificent Chateau St Jean Winery.
