Jane Therese Curtin was born on 6th September 1947 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, U.S. In the year 1965; she graduated from Convent of the Sacred Heart and Elmhurst Academy in Portsmouth, Rhode Island. In the year 1967, she obtained an associate degree from Elizabeth Seton Junior College in New York City and the year 1968 she attended Northeastern University. She also served as a US Committee National Ambassador for UNICEF.

She also has narrated audio books including Nature Girl novel written by  Carl Hiaasen.On 7th May 2010, she won $250000 for the U.S Fund for UNICEF in the in the Jeopardy! Million Dollar Celebrity Invitational.
