Celine Dion Postpones Concert Due To Coronavirus?

Celine Dion is on a tour of the United States for her Courage World Tour. However, following an unforeseen illness, she has canceled her concert in many places in the U.S.

The My Heart Will Go On singer initially delayed her concerts in Washington D.C. and Pittsburgh due to “common cold.” Then, after a couple of days, she proceeded to cancel multiple concerts all over the country due to the illness.

But, according to the singer herself, it is just a minor cold. She is not a victim of the Coronavirus and has clarified that she has tested negative for the virus.

Initial Postpones of Celine Dion's Tours: How It Began

On the 11th of March 2020, Celine Dion took to her official Facebook page to announce that she was postponing two performances of her Courage World Tour. One of the concerts was at the Capital One Arena in Washington D.C. on the 11th of March, Wednesday, and another at the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, which was scheduled to take place on the 13th of March, Friday.

The announcement read as follows:

We regret to inform you that due to a cold, Celine Dion will be postponing two performances of her COURAGE WORLD TOUR scheduled this week in Washington, D.C and Pittsburgh, PA.

The statement continued:

On Monday night, a day after completing a six-show run in the New York area, Celine began feeling the symptoms of a common cold. The symptoms persisted into Tuesday, and her doctors instructed her to rest for the next 5-7 days. After testing her, the doctors concluded that her virus was not related to COVID-19.

Celine also said the following in the statement in response to her cancellations:

I’m so sorry for disappointing my fans in Washington D.C. and Pittsburgh. I hope everyone understands.

However, when this statement surfaced, Celine’s shows were expected to continue with rescheduling for these two postponed shows. At that time, concerts of her Courage World Tour were expected to resume as scheduled from Tuesday, the 24th of March, and the postponed shows were to be rescheduled for November.

The concert in Washington D.C. was rescheduled to take place on the 16th of November 2020. Similarly, the concert at Pittsburgh was rescheduled to take place on the 18th of November 2020.
