The '70s teen heartthrob, David Cassidy, dies at the age of 67 according to his publicist Jo-Ann Geffen. The US teen idol David, who is best known as Keith Partridge for his appearance in 1970s series 'The Partridge Family,' died on Tuesday at a hospital in Florida.
Jo-Ann confirmed the news with a statement from his family. The family assertion read as:
“On behalf of the entire Cassidy family, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, our uncle, and our dear brother, David Cassidy. David died surrounded by those he loved, with joy in his heart and free from the pain that had gripped him for so long. Thank you for the abundance and support you have shown him these many years.”
Furthermore, David's nephew, Jack Cassidy also tweeted about his uncle's death, to share the loss amid his social media followers.

The news ultimately followed several heartfelt messages of condolence on Twitter.

The singer-actor David's health was in a critical condition as he was suffering from organ failure. He had been admitted to the intensive care unit of a Fort Lauderdale in Florida on 18th of this month.
David was born to famed actor-singer Jack Cassidy and actress Evelyn Ward, which ultimately assisted him in grabbing a career in the entertainment field.
The early work of David included appearances on 'Ironside,' 'Marcus Welby,' 'M.D.', 'Adam-12' and 'Bonanza.' He then began portraying as Keith on the popular ABC musical sitcom 'The Partridge Family,' which even had several pop hits.
