Actress Lainie Kazan, The My Big Fat Greek Wedding Star Arrested for Shoplifting! Details
The seventy-seven-year-old actress Lainie Kazan, who is popular for her portrayal in the My Big Fat Greek Wedding, was arrested on Sunday for shoplifting in the San Fernando Valley, California.
The actress was arrested after she allegedly loaded up a cart with groceries at a Gelson's supermarket in Los Angeles.
According to TMZ, Kazan used several reusable bags to take $180 worth of food. A store worker then stopped her and called the police after she walked outside without paying. Law enforcement sources shared,
“The "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" star went to a Gelson's in the San Fernando Valley at 4PM and loaded her cart with $180 worth of groceries. We're told she put the food into several reusable bags and walked out to her car.”
However, Kazan was released without bail after being handcuffed and taken to a police station for petty theft. Though Kazan hasn’t commented on the matter, a source stated to TMZ that Kazan had said she had no money at the time of the incident.
The actress, who has accumulated the net worth of $500 thousand, has been a part of the industry since 1960's. Kazan has got decades of acting credits under her name. However, she is popular as the hilarious mom "Maria Portokalos" in My Big Fat Greek Wedding in 2002.

Kazan was last seen in "My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2" in 2016.
Talking about her personal life, she was married to Peter Daniels in 1971. Her marital relationship ended in 1989 after her husband Daniels died of lung cancer. Kazan has one daughter Jennifer with Daniels.
