Manushi Chhillar Becomes The Miss World 2017! Adds A Crown To Her Bio
A star-studded event held in China proved to be one of the most astounding moments for India's Manushi Chhillar, as she got crowned with the coveted title of Miss World 2017 on Saturday, the 18th of November.
This 20-year-aged lady from Haryana, India brought an end to the country's dry spell of 17 years at the top pageant contest yesterday. The win indeed comes after the Quantico actress Priyanka Chopra brought home the coveted title back in the year 2000.
The crown was presented to Manushi by the last year’s Miss World winner from Puerto Rico, Stephanie Del Valle at the event which witnessed participation from 118 countries.

Manushi edged out top five contestants from England, France, Kenya, and Mexico to win the crown, while Miss England Stephanie Hall and Miss Mexico Andrea Meza became the first and second runner-ups respectively.
She is the sixth Indian to win the title while Reita Faria made the initiation in 1966 followed by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Diana Haydon, Yukta Mookhey and Priyanka Chopra.
With the win, Manushi shared the happy news with her social media followers on her official Twitter handle.

The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi also congratulated her on the success through a tweet.

Manohar Lal Khattar, the Chief Minister of Haryana, praised her taking to Twitter and said:
“I congratulate Haryana’s daughter Manushi Chhillar on winning the Miss World crown.”
She indeed deserves all the acclaims!
Moreover, in the Top Five round, when Manushi was asked about the highest paid profession, her answer got a wide-applause for her beautiful answer which was linked with an emotion of a mother.
The answer was:
"I think a mother deserves the highest respect and when you talk about salary it’s not always about cash but I feel it’s the love and respect that you give to someone. My mother has always been the biggest inspiration in my life. All mothers sacrifice so much for their kids. So, I think it is the job of a mother that deserves the highest salary.”
