Openly Gay, CNN's Anderson Cooper Resides In Multi-Million Mansion With Bar Owner Boyfriend

It seems that empowerment has led people to be no longer afraid of the traditional thinking of their physical and sexual orientation. Maybe this is the reason why so many celebrities have been coming out recently. Anderson Cooper, a renowned journalist, and correspondent also came out as gay in 2012. Let’s take a look at how his life is now.

Anderson Cooper has been seen at the front of the camera whether as the co-host of the ABC’s ‘World News Now’ and ‘The Mole’ during the mid 90’s as the host of CNN’s ‘Anderson Cooper 360°’ but he is an equally experienced field reporter and correspondent as well. He has always spoken his mind so, although he officially came out as gay in 2012 it was like a secret that many people could have guessed and hence would not be surprised.

So though it was an open secret for a long time before, Cooper had never hidden it because he was scared. He did not come out for merely 3 reasons, one of them being to keep his personal life intact and distributing this aspect of his life among selective members of friends, family, and colleagues.

The second reason was that as he went on to cover at some of the most chaotic events in the world, he found the safety of himself and his co-workers in blending in with everybody. Finally, he thought that the idea of a journalist is someone who tells stories and not is the story himself. He felt that what he was to be no concern of anybody but himself.

Later Cooper felt that his silence was being misunderstood as shame and weakness. So taking the celebratory phase of the legalization of Gay marriage in New York in June 2011 to his advantage, he came out on 2012. Since then he has been a motivation to many other fellow journalists like Don Lemon. After he received lots of praise for this on twitter, he politely replied.

New House New Start:

Recently he has bought a vast 210 acres estate for his new residence. The estate is a historic 18 roomed mansion, which doubtless is a multimillion contract. It is said that the grand manor is named, the Rye House that must have cost the 47-year-old anchor somewhere between 5 to 9 million dollars.

The house was also previously owned by the famous Oscar-winning actress, Meryl Streep where she had raised her children. The beautiful sprawling stone property resides in the Litchfield Country of Connecticut. Besides this, Cooper is the owner of two other locations of residence, one in New York and the other one in the Hamptons.

The backstory of his Better Half:

But the house does seem awfully big for just him. This is because he would be sharing it with the love of his life. After his confession, he didn’t have to hide his private life with the world anymore. So, soon after his confession, he was seen with an unknown partner. Later he was identified as Cooper’s boyfriend, Benjamin Maisani as they walked the red carpet of amfAR 2015.

Not much is known about Cooper’s better half except that he is a Frenchman and owner of 3 gay bars while looking to open his fourth. His bar is the the place where the couple first met and had been going out since 2009.

They have been together for seven years now, and there can be no possibility of a former wife or girlfriend for him because he had come out before the 70's. They haven't shared their views towards getting married, but it wouldn't be a big surprise if they do.

Awards and Achievements:

Anderson Cooper is a well-known figure in journalism who is the winner of 5 Emmy awards while being nominated five other times. He has also won other prestigious awards like Bronze Telly, Peabody, and National Headliner.

Despite that he has been honorably awarded National Honor of Award and Merit by the government of Haiti for his reporting of the country. He is also known as the author of New York Times Best Seller ‘Harper Collins.'

Even the best men get sexually attacked some day, this was the same for Anderson Cooper, who mind you, is openly gay and he was harassed by Kathy Gryffin. During 2012 New years' celebrations, Kathy Gryffin flirted with the openly gay Anderson Cooper. What started as a slight joke eventually turned into sexual harassment as Kathy began to make sexual advances on Cooper, made various sexual gestures and finally, stripped on live television. Besides all of this, Anderson Cooper has also been seen on multiple other platforms. He is also an excellent writer and often publishes his articles in popular outlets such as the magazine 'Details'. He has also written ''Dispatches From the Edge', a memoir for Harper Collins regarding his life.

The book went on to become a New York Bestseller on June 18, 2006. He has also participated in lots of acting ventures. He has made appearances in 2015 movie 'Chappie' and 2016 movie 'Superman V Batman.' He has also done the narrator's voice for the Broadway play of 'How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying' starring Daniel Radcliffe.

So thus it looks like Anderson /Cooper has many more talents than journalism.
