"I Had To Get Still And Really Just Put My Mind Around It" Says Tameka Foster Looking Back At The Tragedy That Changed Her Life

American celebrity stylist Tameka Foster has kept going strong in life and moving forward despite a tragic loss in her life.

On July 2012, Foster experienced a loss that no mother wants to even think of.

Tragedy That Can Never Be Undone

Foster lost her son in a tragic accident 9 years ago, and she has been recovering from the tragedy ever since.

Her son, Kile Glover, died when he was just 11 years old. A series of unfortunate events led to his demise.

The event was sadly caused by Tameka's ex-husband Ryan Glover's best friend, Jeffery Hubbard.

According to Daily Mail, Hubbard was controlling a Jet Ski, which collided with an inner tube on which Kile was riding.

Kile's stepmother, aka Ryan's wife, Marsha Glover, described the incident as,

"We looked up and I saw Jeff coming as if he was coming directly toward the boat. And before I knew it, there was a big cloud of water..."

Unfortunately, the impact was so damaging that 11-year-old Kile lost his life after getting admitted to the hospital for six days.

In 2014, Hubbard was found guilty of charges and was sentenced to four years in prison.

However, Tameka addresses that Hubbard did not do it on purpose. She says,

"At the end of the day, I know he didn’t do it on purpose,' Foster told WSB-TV. 'He could’ve only loved Kile."

While talking to Essence in early 2021, she says how she has forgiven Jeffery and has moved on from the grudge.

"I forgive him. I forgave him a long time ago because I know that it wasn’t intentional. The accident wasn’t intentional. It was exactly that—it was an accident. He went to jail for it, just for the negligence. I forgive him because I think he’s suffering [too] and I think he’s suffering enough."

In the same interview, the strong mother also talked about how she coped up with the situation,

"I had to get still and really just put my mind around it, like, okay, why did this happen? How did this happen? The only thing that got me through is realizing that our lives are pretty much predestined..."

As a mother, it was tough for Foster to contemplate her life without her son, but she also found solace in her other children.

Relationships And Kids

Foster is a mother of four kids, including her angel son, Kile Glover. Kile was her son from her first-ever relationship with Ryan Glover.

Tameka also had another child with Ryan, named Ryan Glover Jr.

The mother of four got married to Ryan Glover in 2002, and they decided to separate in 2007.

After 2007 she got married to Usher, the famous singer, in the same year. But her relationship with Usher also did not last, and the pair divorced in 2009.

During the time of her son's demise, she was fighting an ongoing bitter battle for custody of their children.

Usher and Tameka also share two children, named Naviyd Ely Raymond and Usher Raymond V.

The battle of custody finally ended in 2013, a year after the loss of her son. But in that year, too, she had to face another loss.

She lost custody to Usher on August 9, 2013, and Usher had primary custody of their two sons.

What Is She Doing Now?

Over time, Foster moved away from grief and tried to spread more positivity to the world.

She is on her way to release a memoir, Here I Stand. It is open for pre-order and is releasing on September 2021.

In the book, the celebrity stylist has opened up about intimate life experiences and her recovery journey through hard times in her life.

Further, Foster has also opened a foundation called Kiles World Foundation in memory of her son. The organization aims to offer enrichment for children.
