Cheri Oteri was born on 19th September 1962, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She grew up in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania and went to Archbishop Prendergast High School. Post graduation she moved to Los Angeles at the age of 25 and worked in Promotions for A&M records for four years.
Cheri had to go through a tough time in her life as her father, Gaetano Thomas Oteri was stabbed to death in April 2008 in Nashville, Tenn. On the charge of murder of 69 years old Gaetano, authorities arrested country songwriter Richard Fagan.
Gaetano was Richard's longtime music associate and publisher too. As per affidavits, a fight had occurred between Gaetano and Richard following which Richard used a Colt pocket knife to cut Oteri across his body before leaving the scene.
