Ed Skrein's Reason Behind Leaving Game of Thrones; Life With Son

The villain of Deadpool, Ed Skrein, while talking to Entertainment Weekly, revealed that the real reason for him leaving Game of Thrones was somewhat political. 

Political Reasons Behind Leaving The Show 

One of the fan-favorite characters- Daario Naharis from Game of Thrones, was initially played by Ed Skrien for three episodes in season 3. After a short stint, Skrein left the show, and Michiel Huisman started playing the role of Daario Naharis from season 4. 

HBO never commented regarding the recast, but several theories started coming forward, claiming that the actor couldn’t continue filming Game of Thrones due to other commitments. 

However, during an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Skrien mentioned that the reason why he chose to leave the show was political, and he wanted to stay in the show for a longer time as he was very fond of the show. 

“That’s what been reported in the press but it was a lot more political than that. My plan was to stay with Game of Thrones for the long haul. That was always my plan. I would have loved to. It was a wonderful experience, but politics led to us parting ways.” 

Further, after appearing in Game of Thrones, the British actor has gone on to play some famous roles in major movies like- Deadpool, Alita: Battle Angel and Maleficent: Mistress of Evil.

Dating Rumors With Angelina Jolie

In 2018, some rumors stated that Maleficient 2 star Angelina Jolie has been crushing on the British actor. The rumors started in May 2018 when Ed was cast together with Jolie in Maleficent 2, and some unknown source reflected that Angelina had her hand in it. 

But as those were only rumors, Gossipcop clarified the situation stating Angelina has no hand in casting Ed in the upcoming Maleficent sequel. 

Further, the Game of Thrones star cuts his family life away from the media's camera and stardom.

First-Born Child's Baby Mama Still Secret 

Skrein is relishing fatherhood with his only son Marley Skrein, whom he shares with his mystery girl. While Ed prefers keeping his family life away from the hustle of media, he has hardly given any insight into the mother of his child. 

Ed has also not revealed whether the baby mama is his girlfriend or wife or how they first met and ended up with a child.

The Maleficent 2 star believes in being a dad before being anything else in the world as he states having Marley in his life is the best thing that ever happened to him.

In an interview with Charlotte Philby on 30 September 2014, Skrein revealed that his son- Marley was just five minutes old when he first sang ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ by Gerry and the Pacemakers to him, and since then, he would sing it to him every single night.

Adding to his fatherly moments, Ed says that his favorite thing is to spend time with his kid when he is not acting. He even expressed that he loves spending time in the playground, taking Marley's friends out, and enjoying ice cream in the scorching sun.

While talking with Evening Standard, Ed revealed his ordinary life away from the stardom. He commented- 

 “I am thankful for the success but the whole idea of stardom is not something that excites me. I am a family man and my most important role is a father to my son. When I am not working I am with them."
