Actress Monyetta Shaw didn't get Married to her Ex-Boyfriend, But Still Celebrates their Kids' Birthday Together

Sharing the duties of parenting, actress Monyetta Shaw and her ex-fiance Ne-Yo threw a birthday party for their children. After several years of separation, the couple has managed to stay in touch with their children keeping their vows which they took at the time of segregation. Let’s find out more about the two.

Monyetta Shaw's Kids' Birthday Bash: Event That brought Ex-couple Together!

The American actress, Monyetta Shaw shares two children; Madilyn Grace Smith and Mason Evan Smith with her ex-fiance, Ne-Yo and celebrated the birthday of kids together.

Both, Madilyn, who turns 6 no 12 November 2017 and Mason, who turned 5 on 9 October 2017 enjoyed private bowling, laser tag and arcade games with their friends from school. The birthday of the children was celebrated with family members and some close friends of the two. 

The birthday boy and girl got their cake which in one way or another resembled their likes and dislikes. Mason’s cake was ‘Paw Patrol’ themed whereas Madilyn’s cake was ‘My little Pony’ themed with pictures of them.

Talking about the birthday of kids, Ne-Yo stated to USmagazine in November 2016,

“The party was a success because our kids had a great time. That's what it's all about. No beef, no bad blood, no shade ... we are grown. This is what it looks like when grown-ups act like adults.”

On the other hand, Shaw shared the reason behind the celebration of the born day of the kids together. She proclaimed,

“Ever since the M's 2nd and 3rd birthday, Ne-Yo and I decided on a joint party for them because of dad's busy schedule and the fact that their birthdays are close.”

Bigger than me author further added,

“They actually love it because they are pretty much inseparable and BFFs. So we've made it our little tradition. ... It was important for us to throw their birthday party together, as we have before, to continue to set a positive example for our kids and to let them know that no matter what, they are loved and celebrated."

A Quick Snap At Monyetta Shaw knotty Relationship With His Boyfriend: 

It is quite surprising to see the exes in the same place. Emphasizing the very topic, Shaw explained how she and her ex-boyfriend has come up the decision of not being the couple who can’t stand at the same place.

In the same interview, she explained, 

“I understand that some exes can't get along or stand to be in the same place with each other, but we have made a conscious decision not to be those people. We understand that respect for one another is important, even if we don't see eye to eye on a situation. We figure it out as adults and ultimately come to a resolve.”

She mentioned,

“It is so important to co-parent positively because that will determine the mind-set of our kids in the long run. They are the bigger picture. We do it for them."

The ex-couple made a decision keeping their kids as prominent. Shaw further added,

“The well-being of the kids is our main focus, and our goal is to make sure that we lead by example. We strive daily to ensure that they know the importance of family, love and positivity."

Monyetta Shaw previously underwent a sterilization procedure in 2011 while she was engaged with Ne-Yo. She decided to undergo the operation when her then-fiance agreed to be sterilized, following the birth of their second child. Telling to New York Post, she recalled the moment saying, 

"Before the doctors finished up in the delivery room, I told them: “I want you to burn my fallopian tubes." Ne-Yo was right by my side, holding my hand the entire time. The doctor must have asked us eight times if this was what we wanted. Each time, we both replied yes. I was so busy caring for two young children, I just assumed Ne-Yo had followed through and had gotten the vasectomy,' she recalls. 'I trusted him so much that it never even crossed my mind that he hadn’t gone through with it.'"

Also, the Atlanta Exes reality star added that she regrets the decision as ex-fiance can have children while she cannot. She quoted "If I find another man to love, I may not be able to start a family with him."

Monyetta Shaw's New Boyfriend

Following the split with Ne-Yo, Monyetta Shaw was reportedly dating American millionaire Marc Leder in February 2016. As reported, Shaw was spotted with Marc Leder, a co-chief executive officer of Sun Capital Partners, Inc who’s worth an estimated $600 million.

Monyetta Shaw's Past Dating Life: Engaged But Not Married

The American actress and author, Monyetta Shaw was engaged to singer Ne-Yo in 2011. The couple first met at a Jamie Foxx concert in Louisiana in 2009.

The soon-to-be husband of Shaw left her heartbroken two months before their marriage ceremony, in June 2013.

After the split, Shaw is not seen that hints dating anybody, however, her ex-fiance, Ne-Yo got married to Crystal Renay on 20 February 2016. The duo soon welcomed their first son named Prince Shaffer Chimere Smith Jr. in early 2016.
