New Heartbreak Song 'Astronomy' Is Conan Gray Gay? His Sexuality Finally Gets Revealed

American YouTuber and vlogger Conan Gray came out with a new heartbreak song- 'Astronomy' on May 7th, 2021, with a promise to come out with more music this year. 

Gray adds that his new song is all about slowly falling out of love. 

‘Astronomy’ is about that slow, painful, often denial inducing process of growing apart from somebody...That moment when all of a sudden you look at that person you’ve loved for years and realize you no longer know them. That you two exist on two different worlds now.

Conan Gray Reminisces About His Firsts

In the latest interview with NME, the self-described "shy boy" talks about his first experiences, including going to his first concert and performing his first gig.

“It was happening faster than I could handle it and I was learning it as I go.”

The 22-year-old singer recalls all of his lively nostalgia in the video while being grateful for where he is now. He also discusses the tiniest details of his life, such as the first t-shirt or CD he ever purchased for himself, along with his artistic beginnings.

Being questioned about who was the first artist he fell in love with, Gray chooses Adele without skipping a beat. We can now see where the artist gets his sorrowful song ideas from. 

“I’d been through many break-ups at 12, so I very much felt connected to Adele.”

Conan Recalls His Crush Through 'Heather'

Conan hit the limelight after releasing his song - ‘Heather,' Dilon Mathew, and Conan himself directed the music video. The song reflects how he felt about his crush in high school and how his crush desires another girl named 'Heather.' 

In the song, he expresses how painful it was for him when his crush's attention shifted towards Heather. 

But despite the fact the Heather was the hindrance of his love, he admires her saying she was a gentle and beautiful girl inside out. The lyrics of the song also explain that Heather is a sight for sore eyes and captivating beauty. And Conan understands why his crush was attracted to her instead of him.

In a press statement, he said;

The slow transformation throughout the video was made to represent the feminine and masculine traits. I constantly switched between in order to become who I knew my crush would like. Somebody soft and sweet. Somebody like Heather.
