Actress Kim Cattrall was born Mossley Hill, Liverpool in 1956. She celebrates her birthday on the 21st day of August every year. Kim comes from the family of Gladys Shane and Dennis Cattrall. Her father was a construction engineer, while her mother worked as a secretary.

Kim is the second of four children. She boasts an older sister and two younger siblings., one of whom is a brother named Chris Cattrall.

When Kim was just three years old, her parents emigrated to the Canadian city of Courtenay in British Columbia. Later, the actress returned to England temporarily at the age of 11. During which, she took several acting lessons at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA).

She returned to Canada to complete her high school degree and graduated in 1972.
