Two years since her second child’s birth, Lake opened up about her pregnancy ordeals. While talking to her Bless This Mess costar Dax Shepard in his podcast Armchair Expert, she explained the traumatic experience of her son, Ozzgood’s birth.
It so happened that Lake opted for a home birth as she had done the same during her daughter’s time. But, things didn’t go as planned.

The actress’ son Ozzgood didn’t breathe as he had the cord wrapped around his neck. Although everyone tried to resuscitate, they couldn’t. Thus, paramedics came and took Lake’s son to the hospital.
The poor boy was kept in NICU for eleven long days. Doctors had even told that Ozzgood may develop cerebral palsy and could have difficulty walking and talking.
But, the TV actress' son pushed through and developed good health. However, Lake was ridden with guilt as she was the one who had decided on home birth, where all the hospital facilities weren’t available. To cope up with the situation, she went for therapy and medication to better herself.
