She grew up as the eldest child in the family of parents, Neil and Kathy Whalen. Lindsay has four younger siblings, two brothers, Casey, and Thomas and two sisters, Katie, and Annie.

Lindsay brought her A-game to the sport ever since her first day. While in school, she led her team to three consecutive basketball championships and was also the honorable mention of All-State selection for four-time.

Later, when she joined the University of Minnesota’s team, she did the same for them too.

On the 25th of January 2004, she bagged the position of Minnesota's all-time leading scorer. Lindsay finished her career with 2,285 points, ranking in the top five in the Big Ten Conference's history.

She started her professional career in 2004 with the Connecticut Sun. Following her prestigious history; the star player led the team to the WNBA finals in both her first and second seasons with them. On the 12th of January 2010, she was traded to the Minnesota Lynx in exchange for Renee Montgomery.

After more than eight years with the team, Lindsay announced her WNBA retirement on the 8th of June 2019.

The Minnesota Lynx honored her by retiring her No. 13 jersey. Besides the fame and respect, the star player has also been successful in terms of wealth. While her net worth is not known, she has earned a generous amount of salary throughout her time.
