Rutina Wesley Love Life Didn't Work Twice! Married Life Hasn't Worked, Why? Is She Gay?

American actress Rutina Wesley has been married twice and her marriage hasn't worked either time. Her career might have seen the heights of success, but her personal life hasn't tasted the same taste.

Wesley is best known for her HBO series True Blood. Even though she had been active a few years before signing the role, she got her breakthrough through this series. 

She is a notable face when it comes to movies, which was another reason why all her marriages and divorces got so much attention. She married two times, her first partner was a man and her second was a woman, and neither of her marriages got to taste the same success as her career.

Her Married Life!! Is She Gay?

The 42-year-old actress has faced struggles in her marriage. Her first marriage was with Jacob Fishel. She tied the knot in 2005. 

Her marriage was a high school romance. Unfortunately, what seemed like a lifetime of togetherness ended after 8 years. The Queen Sugar actress filed for divorce herself in 2013. As per the actress, they had to break their vows due to irreconcilable differences, sadly.

After 5 years of being far away from dating life, Wesley came forward with news that she was getting engaged again. While this is not unusual news for the tabloids or even Hollywood viewers, the announcement did make heads turn.

Wesley revealed that her new lover was a woman named Shonda(chef Lashonda Cross). She broke the news through Instagram and warmly addressed her former partner as-

“light of my life,” “fire of my loins,” “my sin,” and “my soul.”

 The announcement is now deleted, and so are their pictures together, as both of them separated in 2019.

The reason for separation is unknown as neither of the women has mentioned anything, but we were able to find a cute moment that Wesley shared with her lover chef. Wesley's romantic association with a woman raised further questions regarding her sexuality. 

While she has not addressed it publicly, her dating history does tell us that she might be possibly bisexual but can not continue to move forward with this speculation as it hasn't been addressed by her.

Professional Life Has Only Seen Sunshines

Despite having a rocky private life, the actress’s professional life has been the height of success. While her path was paved to be a nurse, she went forward and followed her fashion. 

Technically, her career started in 2005, when she did her first minor role in a movie which sadly edited out her appearance. Later the actress made her big appearance in the movie “How She Move” in 2007. 

This was the beginning of a success story. Wesley went on to do multiple movies and TV series. The appearance that made Welsey a household name was True Blood, on which she played the main lead. The series went on to air for 6 years. She has been seen on widely popular series such as “Arrow” and “The Walking Dead” as well. 

The True Blood actress can be seen in her 5-year long-running show Queen Sugar, which recently had a series finale in late April. Seems like whatever role the actress chooses does seem to be a hit. 

With her long-running shows and other projects, the American actress has been able to accumulate money in millions. Her career definitely has led her to have a net worth in millions.
