Sophie Okonedo is an English actress best known for her work in Hotel Rwanda (2004), Hellboy (2019), and After Earth (2013). She was nominated for an Academy Awards in 2004 under the category of Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role for her portrayal of Tatiana Rusesabagina in Hotel Rwanda.

She made her on-screen debut in 1991 and has extensive experience acting in both movies and TV series. As of February 2020, her name has been credited in over 70 works.

Sophie Okonedo was born to Henry Okonedo and Joan Okonedo on 11th August 1968 in London. Her father is a British Nigerian, and her mother is a British Jew. 

She was raised by Joan alone after Henry abandoned the family when Sophie was five years old.
