Alan Thicke, best known for his role as head of Seaver family on the popular ABC sitcom Growing Pains is no more. Alan Thicke dies at 69.
His death was confirmed by Carleen Donovan, who is a publicist for Thicke’s son, singer Robin Thicke, said in an email that the actor died due to a heart attack when he and his younger son Carter was playing hockey.
Alan Thicke and his younger son Carter had reportedly been at the Pickwick Ice skating rink in Burbank at the time of the incident, and that one of the last things he spoke was a compliment to his son on a nice shot. Thicke was then transported to a Los Angeles-area hospital on Tuesday afternoon and later pronounced dead.
Thicke had recently appeared on the Netflix sequel Fuller House. Robin Thicke, Grammy Award-nominated singer, told The Los Angeles time calling him the 'greatest man I ever met' and 'always a gentleman.'
'I saw him a few days ago and told him how much I loved and respected him.'
Moreover, he added that his father was an inspiration for his musical career. He said:
'The good thing was that he was beloved and he had closure.'
His ex-wife Gloria Loring, who is singer and Days of our Lives star also expressed shock regarding Thicke’s death and said to Us daily:
“Thank you for your kindness concerning Alan Thicke's passing. It is a shock. We were all just together for Thanksgiving,”
Moreover, she added:
“He was talented, funny and deeply devoted to his family. Rest in Peace, dear one.”
Thicke’s youngest 19-year-old son Carter tweeted that he lost his “best friend and my idol.”

Loring and Alan were married during the time interval from 1970 to 1983 and also share children Brennan, 41 as well as "Blurred Lines" singer, 39.
