On the late night talk program, show host Jimmy Kimmel shared about the life-threatening surgery in the opening monolog while fighting tears. He started,

“We call him Billy, six pushes he was out, he appeared a normal healthy baby”

However, three hours later, a nurse noticed something was wrong with Jimy's new-born Billy and oblivious to the presence of life threating disease. Jimmy shared,

“My wife was in bed relaxing, a very attentive nurse at Cedars-Sinai heard a murmur in his heart and noticed he was a bit purple, which is not common, [Nurses] determined he wasn’t getting enough oxygen in his blood, either in his heart or lungs … It’s a terrifying thing, you know my wife is back in the recovery room, she has no idea what’s going on.”

Then, Billy’s heart surgeon explained Kimmel couple that he has a congenital heart disease and needs a surgery and Jimmy said,

“hole in the wall of the left and right side of his heart.”

Billy underwent a successful open heart surgery on May 1, 2017, following the diagnosis. Jimmy further revealed Billy still needs more surgeries to recover from the heart disease.

“He’ll have to have another surgery in 3-6 months,”

Also, Jimmy added,

“non-evasive surgery when he’s older.”

Lighting the intense environment, Jimmy joked and said,

“Poor kid, not only did he get a bad heart, he got my face”

Billy got discharged from LA hospital, after six days of his birth. After embracing the fatherhood, Jimmy is on the paternity leave for the rest of this week.

Jimmy thanked for the support in the difficult times, through a statement that said,

“Every one of my friends was there 100%. We had atheists praying for us, okay? We had people who do not believe in God praying to him. And I hate to even say, but even that son-of-a-bitch Matt Damon sent flowers.”

Jimmy especially thanked his wife, Molly McNearney beautifully in words,

“Most of all, I want to thank my wife Molly. First of all, for allowing me to have sex with her in the first place.,” he joked. “But also for being so strong and level-headed and positive and loving during the worst nightmare a new mother could experience. I couldn’t as for a better partner and I’m so happy we had this baby together. I’m definitely getting a vasectomy after this. “

Jimmy Kimmer got engaged to his then girlfriend Molly McNearney on August 2012 and married her in July 2013. And together they share two children, two-year-old daughter, Jane and newborn son, Billy, whose arrival was announced in early December 2016.

Our prayers for the good health and speedy recovery to adorable Billy!
