Anne Stringfield Bio: Her Age, Wedding Details With Actor Husband, And Their Baby Daughter Whose Name Is Fascinating

Anne Stringfield is a successful former American writer who has been married to one of the greatest comedians of all time, plus he is a successful actor, a brilliant writer, a skillful playwright, and a talented musician, with a vibrant personality in real life.

The former American writer/art collector, Anne has a family of three that includes the caring husband and a 2012-born daughter who got a fascinating name. 

Despite more than two decades of age-gap between the husband and wife, they have maintained a close family bond, especially the father-daughter relationship in the family have been remarkable. 

Anne Stringfield's Suprise Wedding 

The daughter of pulmonologist father, Dr. James and archeologist mother, Margo Stringfield, Anne Stringfield, a Tina Frey look-alike,  has had a blissful married life with the American actor, Steve Martin. 

The former freelance writer of US Vogue got married to the iconic actor, Steve Martin on 28 July 2007 in a surprise wedding ceremony.

More than 75 guests including the likes of Tom Hanks, Eugene Levy, Diane Keaton, Carl Reiner, and  Ricky Jay were invited to the wedding without any prior announcement.

The guests initially thought that they were invited to a house “party,” but it was a wedding ceremony in disguise. 

Former Nebraska Senator Bob Kerrey presided the surprise wedding ceremony. The famous television producer, Lorne Michaels, creator of the world-famous American Sketch comedy show, Saturday Night Live, functioned as the Best man at the wedding. 

Anne Stringfield's Family, Baby Daughter, Amazing Name

In December 2012, after some years of their marriage, the former writer, who kept her bio information low-profile, and her then 67-year-old husband welcomed their first child, a baby daughter. 

Following the baby's birth, it was obvious for the fans to be curious about the new-born name, but the comic-turned actor and his wife hadn't decided the name yet in 2013 when they went to a famous talk show.

Steve showcased his comical side when the famous talk show host, David Letterman on his show The Late Show With David Letterman,  asked him about his daughter's name. 

The American comedy movie The Father of The Bride star, Steve replied the question with sarcasm, stating,   

"We've thought about the name quite a bit. Conquistador. What do you think? I didn't want to go with one of those Hollywood weird names. Conquistador is a statement.’"

Similarly, in November 2013, Steve was awarded an honorary Oscar at the Academy Of Motion Picture Arts And Sciences' Fifth annual Governors Awards,

During the acceptance speech, Anne's boyfriend-turned-husband choked in tears and stated how much his wife and their baby daughter meant to him. He said,

'My wife, Anne Stringfield … is as beautiful as she is smart, My wife alone would have been enough reward for my life, but now she's brought me a wonderful child.’

Slipping back to his familiar funnyman mode, he also added some humor, saying,  

‘For some mysterious reason, she really loves that child. I don't know. I don't get it.’

Despite being the wife of such a famous figure, Anne maintained a low-key profile in the media; probably she decided to dedicate all of her focus and energy upbringing the new-born.

Matter of fact, Anne, who was yet to make a red carpet debut with her husband, was spotted with her 23 months old daughter in Los Angeles for the first time in 2014. 

Public Appearances With Husband

The whole family of three made a rare appearance together in Beverly Hills in November 2016. The loving family was spotted in Beverly Hills together.

Steve and his wife Anne, born in 1972, are seen upbringing their daughter with immense love and good faith. The famous actor lived his life per se his will; fulfilled his career aspirations, waited for the right soul mate and conceived a child only when he felt he could be a good father.

Steve, who already portrayed the famous father characters in the movies like Father of the Bride (1991) and  Cheaper by the Dozen (2003), said he spent his days spending time with his daughter during the Daily Telegraph interview in 2016. 

He also added that it's a good idea to welcome a child in one's later life. He said,

'You're all set and secure in life, and you're not building your career, so you have a lot of time. When I was younger, I was selfish and focused on my career. Now I’m just hanging around the house playing with (my daughter). It's great.'

 The author of autobiography book Born Standing Up - The Comic Life, Steve and Anne mark 11 years of their marriage in 2018. 

Anne First Met Husband Professionally

The couple first met in 1994 when the Davidson College graduate, Anne was a fact checker at the The New Yorker magazine.

It turns out that they talked over the phone for one year after the magazine assigned her to check one of Steve's comedy pieces. 

The comedy album, A Wild and Crazy Guy creator, Steve recalled the memories in one of his interviews with aarp.org in 2017, stating,

"We talked on the phone for a year before we even met." 

The two first started dating in 2004 and later in 2007; they became an official couple. 

After three years of dating, Anne got married to Steve at his luxurious home in Los Angeles, California, United States. 

Anne's husband, Martin, who sported an Insp Clouseau mustache in the 2007's wedding ceremony, was previously married to English actress Victoria Tennant.

Steve and Victoria got married in 1986 and divorced in 1994.
