Pro-Tennis player Amanda Anisimova's career took a new height after she became runner-up at the 2016 Junior French Open. It was a career feat since she became the first American to compete at the finals in Junior French Open since 2002.

Moreover, in 2016, she was designated with the title of fifth best junior in the world. The athlete even shocked audiences when she defeated Simona Halep, world 3rd ranking Tennis legend during the quarterfinals of the French Open in June 2019.

Amanda Anisimova's Family, Siblings

Amanda was born to Olga and late Konstantin Anisimov. Both of her parents are originally from Russia and migrated to Aventura, Florida, later on.

Ever since her younger years, her father was her mentor on her professional life as well since he coached her until 2019.

Unfortunately, her dad, Konstantin, lost his life due to a heart attack at the age of 52 in August that year, just a week before her 18th birthday. Talking to The Post about his demise, she shared,

It was the worst thing that ever happened to me. It was very tough.

The tennis icon even withdrew from the US Open 2019, where she was scheduled to participate in. As of now, she is ready to return to the tournament again and cited her dad as the biggest influence to get back to the game. 

Talking about Amanda's sibling, she has an older sister named Maria Anisimova, who currently works at a bank in Manhattan.

Current Coach

Following Amanda's father's untimely death, famous tennis coach Carlos Rodriguez started to coach her.

He has been mentoring her since October 2019 and has previously worked with athletes such as Justine Henin and Li Na. During his interview with OKTennis in 2019, her coach shared, 

The death of her father in August has affected her a lot. There is still a great difference between the right side of his body and the left one. You need solid bases, we could maybe work like crazy but I have to take care of her and her growth process so I have to slow down. Ours is a long-term project made up of various steps. We'll see if I can take it to my side on this journey and not just in the short term.

Amanda will be working with Carlos till the end of the Australian Open. There is also a probability the two will be training together on a longterm basis.
