However, the same year, the couple's relationship hit rocky shores after Cristina filed a domestic abuse case against the player. Reports claimed that the player had chocked his girlfriend after she found something on his phone that she didn't like. 

Nevertheless, the couple managed to stay through and moved past the downs of their relationship. Rumors of their reconciliation were confirmed after the couple was seen hugging Cristina following the Chicago Cubs' World Series win in Cleveland in 2016.

Aroldis began his career back in 2009 when he first pitched for the Holguín, for the Cuban national baseball team, both domestically and internationally. However, his stay in the Cuban team was short-lived as he defected in the same year. 

In 2010, the player took his talent to the Cincinnati Reds. On the 10th of January that year, Aroldis signed a six-year contract worth $30.25 million. The Reds later traded him to the New York Yankees on the for four minor league players (right-handed pitchers Caleb Cotham and Rookie Davis, and infielders Tony Renda and Eric Jagielo).

Yankees shipped Aroldis to the Chicago Cubs, only to return that every year. On the 15th of December 2016, he signed a five-year contract worth $86 million. Through his career, the professional baseball player has managed to accumulate an astonishing net worth of $12 million as of 2019.
