Born to Charlotte Mary and John Watcyn Lewis on 11 February 1971, Damian Lewis spent his childhood in St John's Wood, London, England. For siblings, he has two brothers Gareth, William, and a sister named Amanda.

Damian studied at Ashdown House School and later moved on to Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

The actor stands tall with height: 6 feet and an inch (1.85 m).

Lewis’s first public relationship was with Katie Razzall, a Channel 4 producer. Damian parted way with his girlfriend as their long-distance relationship became hard to sustain. Shortly after Damian, Lewis dated actress Kristin Davis for a short time.

Before stepping in the professional acting roles in television and films, he served as a telemarketer and a stage actor with the Royal Shakespeare Company. 

Damian first appearance came from an American drama 'Robinson Crusoe' in 1997. The same year, he played Laertes in Jonathan Kent's 'Hamlet,' which brought him to the attention of Steven Spielberg, who cast him as Richard Winters in 'Band of Brothers.'
