Diane Guerrero is famous for playing the role of an inmate Maritza Ramos on Netflix's comedy web-series Orange Is The New Black. The beautiful actress is also known for sharing a steamy relationship with her co-actress Marisol Gonzales on the show. 

On the second season of Orange Is The New Black, Diana shared an intimate kiss wither Marisol, which looked so realistic that some people questioned her sexuality, labeling her a lesbian in real life as well.

However, Diane had the perfect answer to falsify the gossips by her dating history. Also, she was romantically linked with a mysterious man in 2017 which sizzled the story even more.

Ex-Boyfriend: "Great Partner"

The beautiful Diane Guerrero had a colorful dating history.

Back in 2015, the New Jersey native was in a committed relationship with a man named Joseph Ferrara, the coffee roaster. While dating Joseph, she gave an interview with Refinery29 in June 2015, where Diane was asked how long has she been dating her boyfriend.

She answered she was dating him for more than a year quoting Joseph as a great partner. She remarked, 

“It’s gonna be a year and some change. He’s a great partner.”

Further, Diane was asked when will she get married, to which she answered that she had no control over the couple's future actions. She stated,

“Well, we were just at his cousin’s wedding and he caught the garter and I caught the bouquet, so it’s kind of out of my hands."

The lovebirds also went together at the 22nd Annual Screen Actors Award Guild Awards held at The Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on 30 January 2016, which became the last time the duo were seen together.

The 33-year old actress split with Joseph, however, she didn't come forward with the split information. She kept the split timeline and the reason behind it, a secret.

The beautiful actress clearly moved on from her past relationship as Diane was spotted with a new boo.

Dating Mysterious Boyfriend

Back in April 2017, Diane was spotted sharing intimate moments with a mystery man at Miami's beach. The Colombian beauty was seen wearing a palm tree printed one-piece showing her alluring curves, whereas her supposed-boyfriend flaunted his toned body bare-chested, covering his bottom with swim shorts and wore a black hat along with sunglasses in his eyes.

Despite being spotted together, she showed no interest in introducing her mystery boyfriend to the world as she gave no official statements regarding her alleged affair.

Diane also hid the fact whether the two were dating or sharing just a fling as the rumored couple was not spotted together in public further, so it was hard to claim if the two were dating for real.

Rough Childhood After Separation With Parents

Before Diane could live a comfortable life with her prosperous acting career, she had to go through some rough time during her childhood days. At the age of 14, Diana's parents, along with half-brother, were detained and deported back to Colombia. Diane was born in the US hence not evicted. 

At an early age, she had to suffer distance from her parents and soon became depressed, drank a lot, and started cutting herself. She also complained that the Immigration Services never cared for her well-being. However, Diane was rescued after a friend's parent took her in and allowed her to continue her education.

As for now, Diane is an active philanthropist, who is vocal about Immigration Reform. She has even published a memoir titled In the Country We Love, where she talked about her childhood traumatic experience.

Moreover, she has used her platform as an artist in helping portray the effect bought upon by President Donald Trump’s highly controversial immigration policy. In the seventh season of Orange Is The New Black, she played the role of a woman released from jail. Sadly, her character ends up getting jailed again after her identity is mistaken as an undocumented immigrant.

On top of that, art mimicked life when her character Maritza Ramos ends up being deported back to Columbia by the authorities. So, it's very probable that the writers of the show drew massive inspiration from the actress's own family experience with prison and deportation.

Although on screen, she was able to portray the hardships that detainees go through in the detention center. In her own words, she revealed quoting,

“Orange is the New Black is about the prison system and how it affects all of us and how it affects women and how it affects women of color, in particular. I would be so surprised if Orange did not tackle this issue. We are telling different stories, and I am so glad that I am a part of that.”

With the show mirroring her past to a more significant degree, it must have been quite an emotional experience after all.
