Born Dasahev López Saavedra, El Dasa developed a passion for music at an early age. As a teenager, the Sonoran pop sensation entered several singing competitions and eventually landed a placement in Mexico's La Academia 6: Última Generación. He exited the show in the 2nd round.
Unfazed, 18-year-old Dasa moved to Los Angeles, U.S. from his native land of Mexico. To make a living, he held odd jobs, eventually landing a gig as Mexican ranchera legend Vincente Fernandez's chauffeur.
Leaving no stones unturned, Dasa auditioned for his idol in the car. Moved by his singing abilities, Vincente asked him to join the stage at the Gibson Amphitheater. As fate would have it, the video of the two performing "Amor de Los Dos" went viral.
By then, the Mexican-born singer was still running under his birth name. He later changed it to El Dasa and signed a lucrative recording deal with Fonovisa.

Under Fonovisa, Dasa released his debut work called Pa'la Raza in 2012. Two years later, he dropped his chart-topping sophomore project Alegre y Enamorado. His 2017 third studio El Hijo Del Desierto secured a top 10 on the Top Latin Albums chart.
