American actor Jimmy Smits has lived his share of a well-running married life. He was happily wedded to his high school sweetheart, Barbara Smits.

Jimmy and his wife had their wedding on 10 June 1980; however, the two had already started a family long before their marriage.

While the actor was only 19, Barbara had given birth to their daughter Taina Smits.

Likewise, the birth of the couple's son Kino Smits four year after their marriage only added to their happiness. Unfortunately though, on 22nd June, the couple separated officially.

Years have passed since the split and today; his ex-wife is no longer alive. Jimmy's ex-partner Barbara lost her life to pneumonia on 16th April 2019.

While the artist was still a married man, he was having an open affair with Wanda De Jesus. Wanda is a well-known actress, who has starred in movies like Robocop 2 and Ghost Of Mars. It's not known how the pair first commenced their romance, but it did bring havoc in Jimmy's marriage.

As many married women would, his late former wife Barbara didn't take the news so well. In November 1987, things got heated up after Barbara called the authorities claiming that her then-husband and Wanda were shouting and disturbing the peace at her home.

The police officers interrogated both the L.A Law star and his girlfriend. After the incident was filed in court, the judge gave both of them probation for about a year and a half. 

As of 2019, Jimmy and his girlfriend are assumed to be still dating, and no report has suggested otherwise. However, the pair is yet to get married and start a family of their own.
