You may know Kelly Hyland, the famous mother of both Paige Hyland and Brooke Hyland from the show 'Dance Moms.' Seen mostly supporting her dancer daughters, Kelly Hyland became the name who not only got involved in verbal dispute but got into a legal battle with the Abby Lee Dance Company founder, Abby Lee Miller as well.

Kelly Hyland, 46 is a part of the famous family including daughters, Brooke Hyland, Paige Hyland and husband, Randy Ryland, but she earned herself a fair share of popularity from the TV series "Dance Moms."

Kelly Hyland garnered her share of the limelight in 2013 after she got involved in bad blood with Abby Lee Dance Company founder, Abby Lee Miller.

It all started when Kelly felt her daughters were given an unfair treatment and allegedly attacked the show's dance instructor, Abby Lee Miller. As sighted on episode 7 of Dance Moms Season 4, Kelly was involved in a brawl with Miller in the dressing room during competition in New York, which was aired on Lifetime in November. 

The grapple which started with shouting even got physical with hair-pulling!

Covering on Kelly's fight with Abby, TMZ reported,

“Abby was searching for new talent and Kelly was getting p****d off that her kids were being overlooked. When Abby dared to bring a potential pint-sized star by the studio Kelly freaked out.”

After the dispute, Kelly was charged with assault on Abby, which was later dismissed by a judge. However, Kelly was asked to spend two days in counseling and agreement to stay away from Abby for six months. 

The tussle and legal charges resulted in Hyland family (Kelly, Paige, and Brooke Hyland) leaving both the show, 'Dance Moms,' and the Abby Lee Dance Company. However, Kelly’s family did not cut off their ties with dancing but decided not to entrust to just a particular studio for dancing. 

Well, that was not the end of Kelly's legal battles with Abby!

Further in February 2014, Kelly sued Abby seeking $5 million in damages from Miller and production company 'Collins Ave' for alleged defamation and emotional damages.

However, a Los Angeles judge tossed the reality star’s emotional distress complaint in November 2014 but moved forward with her breach-of-contract claims.

Following Kelly's lawsuit, then-13-year-old daughter Paige filed a separate lawsuit against Abby Lee in the same year, 2014. The lawsuit alleged her former teacher, Abby causing emotional distress, claiming Abby “insulted and abused” her on “an almost daily basis.”

Earlier, Abby was seen tossing a chair out of anger while rehearsing a dance with Paige.

The Outcome of the Legal Battle:

The legal battle which started back in 2013 has already ended. The two years legal battle ended finally in October 2015 after Kelly agreed to drop her lawsuits against Abby and Collins Ave Entertainment.

Kelly dropped her lawsuits on the terms that the company will pay $17,500 to repair the floors in the Hylands' home allegedly damaged during production. And the show, Dance Moms could also use Kelly and her daughters’ images in reruns. 

With the end of lawsuits and leaving the show, Dance Moms, Kelly is enjoying her time with her family. Kelly's family time can be evidently seen on Instagram.

Kelly, who was seen numerously supporting her daughters on 'Dance Moms,' seems to focus all her time on the family, and despite the flaunting of family members, her financial aspect, i.e., her net worth's actual figures remain unclear till this date.
