Kirstin's career took off when she won The Sing-Off with her group, Pentatonix, in November 2011. The group included members Avi Kaplan, bass artist, Kevin Olusola, beatboxer, and Mitch Grassi. 

After the big win, Sony Music signed the group; they were also awarded $200K. The group then relocated to LA and released cover songs throughout the next six months. 'We Are Young' by Fun, 'Somebody That I Used to Know' by Gotye featuring Kimbra, and 'Gangnam Style' by PSY went viral all around.

However, Pentatonix's record label, Epic Records, dropped them.

Following the setback, the group started their YouTube channel and found success with millions of subscribers. Along with YouTube, they continued working on their albums. They released their first albums PTX, Vols. 1, in June 2012. A couple of months later, the group released their Christmas EP, PTXmas. Their second EP, PTX, Vols. 2, came the following year in November. 

But it took two years for Pentatonix to release Vol. 3 of PTX. Subsequently, their 2nd full-length Christmas came the album, That's Christmas to Me, in October 2014.  

Amidst the group's success, the bass artist Avi Kaplan had to leave Pentatonix in April 2017 because of his inability to manage family time and balance tour dates. He was then replaced by Matt Sallee the very year in October, with whom the group released their sixth album PTX Presents Top Pop, Vol. I.

Kirstin, on the other side, launched her solo career. In 2017, she released her first single, Break a Little, and made her debut EP, L O V E, in July.
